The framework governing the ABWR platform.

Africa Book of World Records (ABWR) is developing an authoritative platform dedicated to recognizing, documenting and preserving extraordinary human and institutional achievement. These Terms & Conditions establish the principles under which the platform may be accessed and used.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing, browsing or using the ABWR website, platform or services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and any policies referenced within them.

If you do not agree with these Terms & Conditions, you should not use the relevant ABWR services.

2. About Africa Book of World Records

Africa Book of World Records is an institution being established to recognize, document and preserve exceptional human excellence and institutional achievement across fields of human endeavour.

ABWR may operate recognition programmes, registries, publications, research initiatives, media activities, membership services and other programmes consistent with its institutional mandate.

3. Use of the Platform

Users agree to use the ABWR platform lawfully, responsibly and in a manner consistent with the purpose and integrity of the institution.

Users must not use the platform to engage in unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, deceptive, threatening or malicious activity, or to interfere with the operation or security of the platform.

4. Membership and Accounts

Where ABWR provides membership or account services, users are responsible for providing accurate information and maintaining the confidentiality and security of their account credentials.

Users must not impersonate another person, organization or institution, create accounts using misleading identities, or otherwise misrepresent their affiliation or authority.

ABWR reserves the right to suspend, restrict or terminate accounts where there is reasonable evidence of abuse, fraud, misrepresentation, security risk or violation of these Terms.

5. Recognition Applications and Submissions

Individuals, institutions and organizations may submit achievements, records, qualifications, documentation or other materials for consideration through applicable ABWR recognition processes.

Submission of an application does not guarantee recognition, inclusion in the ABWR Registry, publication or certification.

ABWR may review, investigate, verify, request additional evidence, defer, reject or approve a submission in accordance with applicable recognition procedures and standards.

6. Accuracy of Submitted Information

Users submitting information to ABWR represent that, to the best of their knowledge, the information provided is accurate, complete and not intentionally misleading.

Users must not knowingly submit fabricated records, falsified documents, fraudulent evidence or claims designed to improperly obtain recognition.

7. Verification and Recognition Decisions

ABWR may establish verification procedures for individuals, institutions, achievements, records and other forms of recognition.

Verification, recognition, publication or inclusion within an ABWR registry is subject to ABWR's applicable standards, procedures and institutional judgment.

ABWR reserves the right to review, modify, suspend, withdraw or correct recognition where new information, evidence, procedural concerns or material inaccuracies arise.

8. ABWR Registry

The ABWR Registry may contain information concerning recognized individuals, institutions, achievements, records and other officially documented entries.

Information published in the Registry may remain part of the historical record of ABWR unless ABWR determines that correction, removal or modification is appropriate.

9. Certificates and Recognition Materials

Where ABWR issues certificates, plaques, publications or other recognition materials, such materials are subject to the applicable recognition process and standards.

Possession of a recognition material does not authorize a person or organization to falsely represent itself as an employee, representative, officer or authorized agent of ABWR.

10. User-Submitted Content

Users may, where permitted, submit text, photographs, videos, documents, biographies, achievements and other materials to ABWR.

Users remain responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights, permissions and authority to submit such materials.

By submitting materials for recognition, publication or other authorized ABWR purposes, users grant ABWR the permissions reasonably necessary to review, process, reproduce, archive, publish and display those materials in connection with the relevant ABWR activity, subject to applicable law and ABWR policies.

11. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the ABWR name, identity, logos, trademarks, website design, original text, graphics, databases, publications and other proprietary materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

No person may reproduce, modify, distribute, sell or commercially exploit ABWR proprietary materials without appropriate authorization.

12. Third-Party Content and Services

The ABWR platform may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites and services. ABWR does not necessarily control or endorse third-party content, policies or practices.

Users should review the terms and privacy policies of third-party services before using them.

13. Platform Availability

ABWR will seek to maintain a reliable and secure platform but does not guarantee that the website or services will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free or free from technical limitations.

ABWR may temporarily suspend or modify services for maintenance, security, upgrades, development or other operational reasons.

14. Prohibited Conduct

Users must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to ABWR systems, interfere with platform operations, introduce malicious software, circumvent security measures, harvest information unlawfully or misuse another person's account or identity.

15. Privacy

The collection and handling of personal information through the ABWR platform are governed by the ABWR Privacy Policy.

By using services that involve personal information, users acknowledge that such information may be processed in accordance with the applicable Privacy Policy and applicable law.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, ABWR will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or unforeseeable losses arising from access to or use of the platform.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

17. Changes to These Terms

ABWR may revise these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in its services, platform, recognition procedures, institutional operations or applicable legal requirements.

Updated terms will be published on this page. Continued use of the relevant ABWR services following an update may constitute acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
